Requested Profile

• Qualified Environmental and Social specialist, with postgraduate degree and with 15 years’ experience;
• Ten years (10) years relevant experience in environmental impact assessment in sanitation projects;
• Demonstrate to have previous experience in developing ESMS for at least tree (3) corporate clients. Experience in water and sanitation projects is an advantage;
• Proven Experience in working with Municipal Sanitation Services Entities (MSEs) in setting ESMS will be considered an advantage;
• Knowledge of environmental sanitation processes and systems (infrastructure, operation and maintenance);
• Have proven experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and/or team leader for externally financed projects preferably in developing countries, including in Sub-Saharan Africa. He/she shall hold a recognized degree in the field of environmental science and be fully cognizant with World Bank and National approach to ESMS, ESIA, ESMP and gender-related issues and experienced in ensuring that the engineering and environmental teams work together to minimize adverse environmental and social impacts during the design and project implementation;
• Knowledge and experience with WB OPs, ESS EHS Guidelines and ISO E&S relevant accreditation;
• Fluent in written and spoken English and have the ability to draft concise reports; good communication skills; excellent computer skills, working experience with project management systems are essential. Portuguese at working level is an advantage.
