General description of the position: Key expert 2 (translator N.4) will be in charge of
translating publications/manuals of public domain and manuals agreed upon with the
Advisory Group, from Italian to Tigrina. He/she will carry out the activities under the
supervision of the Team Leader
• Expert category: Cat. II (>6 years of experience)
• Qualifications and skills required: University master's degree (MSc) relevant to
the assignment (University of Languages) or equivalent professional experience.
•Sworn translator certificate is a favourable asset •Excellent social interaction and
communication skills •Good analytical and report-writing skills
• General professional experience: •More than 6 years experience field of development
and/or project and programme management;
• Specific professional experience: •Minimum 6 years of professional experience in
translating reference materials, with particular focus on Agriculture/Natural Resources
from Italian to Arabic •Experience in coordinating/negotiating and communicating with
EU Delegation(s), International and local stakeholders. •Experience in Eritrea and/or in
the region is an asset
• Language skills: •Written and oral fluency of Italian and Arabic are mandatory
• Minimum number of working days: 43 days
