General description of the position:
• Expert category: Place of Performance - Cat. II (>6 years of experience)
• Qualifications and skills required: - Relevant university degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Business Law, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields. - Member of a national or international procurement or accounting/auditing body or institution. - Professional qualifications in the field of procurement, accounting or auditing will be an added
advantage. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess financial data, identify discrepancies, and propose effective solutions. - Proven ability to work collaboratively in multicultural teams and build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• General professional experience: - At least 6 years of professional experience in procurement, compliance, audit or internal control, within the non-profit sector or working with international donor organisations
• Specific professional experience: - In-depth knowledge of procurement processes and best practices, especially concerning EU funding and the PRAG (Practical Guide to Contract Procedures for EU External Actions) - Familiarity with audit standards (e.g., GAAP, ISA, IAS, ISRS 4400) - Experience in grant management - Knowledge of local laws and regulations in Nigeria - Experience working with NGOs, public sector organizations and international donor organisations - Experience in developing and implementing training programs related to procurement, compliance, and financial management. - Strong understanding of international financial reporting standards and best practices - Ability to work with diverse stakeholders. - Experience with EDF and EU budget projects in beneficiary countries of EU external action is an added advantage.
• Language skills: Fluency in English
• Number of working days: 165 days
• Additional information: The expert will be working under the strategic direction of the Team Leader and the EU Delegation
