Expert - Social Policy Analysit (Team Leader):
• General description of the position: The team leader has the technical and leadership
skills to coordinate the various aspects of the assignment. They are responsible for the
supervision and timely implementation of the activities and the timely submission of
reports.
• Expert category: Place of performance - Cat. I (>12 years of experience)
• Qualifications and skills required: ● Completed university studies of at least 3 years attested by a diploma/degree in social studies, international relations, law or civil society organizations or another relevant field (minimum requirement). ● An advanced university degree (Masters) or equivalent in social studies, international relations, law or civil society organizations or another relevant field (preferred).
• General professional experience: ● At least 12 years’ experience in the field of civil society strengthening, or social research, or social policy analysis in a development context (minimum requirement).
• Specific professional experience: ● Has conducted at least 3 national consultations with stakeholders developing strategies, policies or in undertaking a sectoral analysis (minimum requirement). ● Has provided institutional capacity strengthening to at least three national civil society networks in Africa (minimum requirement), preferably in East Africa (preferred). ● Previous experience in the development of a strategic plan for supporting civil society (minimum requirement).
• Language skills: ● The expert must have written and spoken English to C1 level as per the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). https:// europass.cedefop.europa.eu/en/resources/european- language-levels-cefr (minimum requirement). • Knowledge of Kiswahili is considered an advantage (preferred).
