General description of the position: The key expert brings an unique expertise in policy dialogue and strengthening CSOs advocacy capacities.
• Expert category: Place of Performance - Cat. II (>6 years of experience)
• Qualifications and skills required: Completed university studies in social and political sciences or equivalent of at least 3 years, attested by a diploma. In its absence 5 years of equivalent professional experience.
• General professional experience: Minimum 6 years of professional experience in development cooperation in the field of support to civil society and/or democratic governance, with significant experience in Asia, Sri Lanka considered as an asset.
• Specific professional experience: Experience in defining, implementing and evaluating initiatives in favor of civil society actors. Experience on facilitating institutional coordination meetings or multi-stakeholder dialogue forums. Experience in drafting, monitoring and evaluating organization strategy documents. Understanding of the sociopolitical context of Sri Lanka. Program and project cycle management experience, and knowledge and experience of EU international development cooperation procedures will be considered as an asset
• Language skills: English. Sinhala/Tamil language considered as an asset
