Team Leader – Solid Waste Management Monitoring Expert / Monitoring and Verification Services for the EU SWM Project in Za’atari and Azraq Refugee Camps and Host Communities

General description of the position: The Team Leader shall be responsible for the overall coordination and quality assurance of the assignment. The will lead the multidisciplinary team, ensure methodological consistency, oversee field missions, and act as the main interlocutor with the Contracting Authority and stakeholders. The Team Leader will validate findings, consolidate inputs from all experts, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality reports in line with EU requirements.
Expert category: Place of performance - Cat. I (>12 years of experience)
Qualifications and skills required:
Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Management, or a closely related field.
Excellent coordination, analytical, and report-writing skills in English.
Demonstrated experience working with government institutions, international donors, or NGOs.
Proven leadership and communication skills, including stakeholder coordination.
General professional experience: • At least 12 years of overall professional experience in solid waste management or environmental infrastructure.
At least 5 years in monitoring, evaluation, or supervision of donor-funded projects.
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing assignments involving multiple stakeholders.
Familiarity with EU-funded projects and reporting frameworks.
Specific professional experience: • Minimum 2 relevant assignments involving monitoring, verification, or evaluation of solid waste or environmental operations.
Experience designing and applying verification methodologies, sampling plans, and compliance matrices. • Experience in humanitarian or refugee-related contexts (campoperations, shelter, or community resilience) is desirable.
The Team Leader will participate in each field mission to ensure consistency and quality control.
Language skills: Excellent command of English is required
