The Team Leader must possess an MSc degree in Transportation Planning/Engineering or equivalent, with demonstrated specialization in Road Safety Engineering, and a BSc degree in Civil Engineering, from a recognized university. He/she must be a Registered Professional Engineer in good standing with Engineers Board of Kenya or equivalent.
The Team Leader must have at least fifteen (15) years post qualification extensive professional experience in Civil Engineering of which ten (10) years are specific to the field of the assignment (Road Safety Engineering).
He/She must be an accredited iRAP Practitioner holding a valid accreditation in all iRAP disciplines (Road Survey, Road Attribute Coding, or Analysis & Reporting), with at least five (5) years’ professional experience in the application of the iRAP methodology, and with experience as a Road Safety Expert in the following or similar capacities on major highway projects: -
• iRAP Star Rating Assessment for major highways
• Road Safety Audit, assessment and analysis for major highways,
• Collision Investigation and Analysis of traffic crashes on major highways,
• Traffic Engineering
• Development and implementation of road safety engineering countermeasures,
• Road safety monitoring and evaluation,
• Training on Road Safety Engineering
The Team Leader must have completed in the last 24 months, at least three (3) Road Safety Audits/Study or similar assignments in the capacity of a team leader or completed at least five (5) Road Safety Audits/Study Projects as a member to become a Team Leader.
The expert must have undertaken Road Safety Engineering training from a recognized Road Safety Engineering Training Institution/body and possesses a valid training certificate on the same.
He/She must demonstrate a minimum 2 days Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in the field of Road Safety Engineering or Collision Investigation & Analysis in the past 12 months.
