General description of the position: The Financial Expert shall be responsible for the verification and assessment of financial records related to the implementation of the action. The expert will review expenditure, payrolls, Cash-for-Work documentation, and subcontractor payments, assess compliance with contractual and financial rules, and contribute to financial findings and recommendations.
Expert category: Home Based - Cat. I (>12 years of experience)
Qualifications and skills required: • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
Excellent analytical and reporting skills; fluency in English required.
Ability to interpret and assess financial and administrative systems.
General professional experience:
At least 12 years of professional experience in financial verification, auditing, or accounting of donor-funded projects
Experience managing or auditing NGO or international organisation projects.
Familiarity with Cash-for-Work (CfW) or labour-intensive programmes.
Specific professional experience:
Minimum 3 relevant assignments verifying or auditing humanitarian or employment-based schemes.
Minimum 2 experiences in Expenditure Verification Audit Experience reviewing payrolls, attendance sheets, CfW documentation, and subcontractor payments.
Knowledge of recycling and revenue- tracking mechanisms would be an asset.
Knowledge in PRAG procedures would be an asset
Experience with projects in refugee or camp-based settings is desirable.
Language skills: Excellent command of English is required
