Mandatory Requirements (must have):
• The project manager should hold a minimum of a post-graduate degree in the field of business,
finance, entrepreneurship, economics or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience of working in Africa or other similar countries with the private
sector and on business acceleration and incubation; experience in Malawi is an added advantage.
• At least 8 years of Specialist knowledge in the
- assessment of the commercial and technical viability of projects
- assessment of economic, social and environmental impacts
- experience in due diligence
- use of grants to trigger innovation
- social or financial fund management, matching grant schemes, or venture capital/private equity
vehicles.
Other requirements (add on/ desired/ add advantage):
• Experience in demonstrating an ability to effectively lead teams and provide strategic guidance on
complex projects in business incubation and acceleration.
• Experience in demonstrating an ability to provide financial management advice on the
implementation of the projects.
• Experience in demonstrating an ability to engage with private sector players at senior management
level and ability to diligently monitor a complex investment portfolio of projects.
• Ability to monitor risks for all contracted business ventures and provide timely solutions.
• Ability to develop policy papers and industry analysis.
• Business incubation and/or acceleration management experience and track-record.
