Expert in response to gender-based violence and team leader:

General description of the position: The team leader for the assignment will be the main contact person for EU Delegation and will assess the response to GBV, the coordination of the programme and the capacity building • Expert category: Cat. II (>6 years of experience)

Qualifications and skills required:

At least a taught Master’s degree (or equivalent) in gender, human rights, international development or a similar relevant field. Or, in its absence, a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an aforementioned field and 3 years of additional general professional experience to that specified below (minimum requirement).

General professional experience:

At least 6 years of work experience in designing and/ or implementing multi-sectoral GBV programmes (minimum requirement).

At least 3 years of experience as a GBV expert providing institutional capacity strengthening to national ministries in the social sectors (gender, education, health, social welfare or social development, community development, youth and sports, traditional affairs, etc.) (minimum requirement).

Specific professional experience:

At least 3 years of work experience in the responding to GBV either in the design or implementation of projects (minimum requirement);

At least 3 years of experience in coordinating, facilitating or organising multi-sectoral collaboration between different national ministries and different sectors on GBV and/or in capacity building on GBV (minimum requirement).

Have successfully completed at least 3 evaluations (e.g., mid-term, final, ex-post, or impact evaluations or similar) on either GBV or gender mainstreaming, or women’s rights programming (minimum requirement).

Experience in implementing cooperating partner funded projects (preferred requirement).

Experience in conducting stakeholder consultations with civil society, the private sector, cooperating partners (especially EU Member States), and the public sector, on gender issues (preferred requirement).

Experience in Sub Saharan Africa (preferred requirement).

Language skills:

Fluency in both oral and written English to a C1 level of proficiency based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages available on: http://rm.coe.int/CoERMPublicCommonSearchServices/ DisplayDCTMContent?documentId=090000168045bb52, which can be demonstrated either by specific qualifications or by past work experience in English (minimum requirement).

Minimum number of working days: 100 days
